good to the last drop

Liquor in the grocery store? I’m not in Kansas anymore. Also trying to get used to speed limits of < 35mph. On a different note, feeling for KC and the all the snow that they have been dumped with over the past few days.

good coffee is good. and if you’re in the kc area, you should definitely check out the roasterie. their coffee is amazing. it is air roasted, for a unique taste. their coffee is sold in most grocery stores, but if you are up for a fun and interesting experience, you should go to their headquarters and schedule a tour. i would highly recommend it. another really neat thing about the roasterie, they let you design your own blend of coffee, so instead of starting off the day with your regular breakfast blend, you can start off the day with “yours truly” blend! check them out. 

Our building matches the sky today.

Amazing concert last night. Struggling at work this morning, but so worth it. Great playlist, fun venue, and one of the most enjoyable performers to watch. This guy loves his job (who wouldn’t?)!!

Preparing for Thursday’s concert at work. Tickets printed and JR will provide the soundtrack to today’s work day.

The City of Fountains is looking pretty festive (and unusually blue) today aka game day!

starting to fall for this city

• so much good food: spin pizza, blanc burger, home made lasagna, blue grotto
• shopping: i didn’t know i was so shopping-deprived until i moved to kc, coincidentally the same time that i no longer have a stable source of income. cool.
• beautiful weather (and a little snow): but four days of running in t-shirts and shorts, can’t complain
• happy hours: x2
• couch time and serious snuggle sesh
• movies: mission impossible 736 (better than i thought, but i had such low expectations) and moneyball (loved it)
• new job…ehhh not panning out as well as i had hoped, but i’m hoping things shape up in week 2
• being domestic: from furniture shopping, signing a lease, menu planning, and folding laundry together, week one of team M&N as roommates = success
• all in all, i would chalk it up to one big W
• cheers to the “weekend” (with M working 32 hours over the next 3 days, it is gonna be a pretty low key one around these parts)

delayed my return home another day in favor of one more day in kc

spent the morning desperately trying to be productive while M is at work

failing miserably

maybe this term paper will be a little easier to write after i switch gears? 

cup of tea in hand, wrapped in a soft and snuggly blanket, josh ritter on pandora, now all i need is for a great, big dose of productivity

hoping that spending a couple hours grading my students’ papers will spark some inspiration to tackle my own
